The Baby Bottle Tree is now in the narthex, highlighting items needed to support the Erie County Foster Care program. You are invited to take a paper “baby bottle,” purchase the listed item, and return it unwrapped with the bottle attached. Donations can be placed in the wooden box in the narthex.

Our Older, Wiser Lutherans (OWLs) will gather on Tuesday, May 12 for a time of fellowship, learning, and connection. Bring a bag lunch and enjoy conversation with others in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

We’ll be joined by a guest from the YMCA, who will share information about programs and opportunities available through the YMCA, along with a few simple chair exercises to keep us moving and engaged.

All are welcome—come for the community, stay for the conversation, and leave with something new.

On Mother’s Day, we take time in worship to give thanks for the women who have nurtured, guided, and cared for us. Flowers are shared as a simple expression of gratitude and recognition, honoring mothers and all who reflect God’s love through care and compassion. We also hold space for the many emotions this day can carry, offering a spirit of grace, remembrance, and hope for all.

As you may know, you can donate blood every 56 days, and our next drive is scheduled for May 4–9—making it a great time to stay on track. The need for blood donors remains constant, and new donors are always welcome.

If you would like to donate but need a ride, please contact the church office to let us know when you’re available. If you are willing to provide a ride and wait while someone donates, we would love your help—please reach out to the church office with your availability.

This is a space to promote your business, its products or its services. Use this opportunity to help site visitors become more familiar with your business and its offerings. Reach out to current and potential clients and customers to build a sense of connection and trust.

Join us for Taizé worship, one of our more contemplative and alternative ways of gathering. This is a quieter, more meditative service—centered on simple, repeated songs, silence, and space to pray and reflect. Rooted in the Taizé Community, it offers a different rhythm of worship—less about words and more about stillness, presence, and opening yourself to God.

On Rogation Sunday, we turn our prayers outward—lifting up the land, the work of our hands, and the needs of our community. Rooted in an ancient tradition of the Church, this day invites us to ask for God’s blessing on creation and all who labor within it.

At Messiah, we mark this day in tangible ways, offering prayers for our neighborhoods, local workers, and the places where daily life unfolds. We give thanks for what God has provided and ask for guidance as we care for the world around us.

All congregation members are invited to join the OWLs for Glow Wild at the Erie Zoo. The cost is $17 per person, based on a group of at least 15 participants.

Please sign up in the narthex and submit payment to Bonnie Stearns by May 10 to reserve your spot.
