OWLs June Gathering - 6/11 @8PM
Graduation Celebration
We celebrate four graduates this Sunday morning as they graduated from four different levels of schooling. Join us during our Gathering contemporary worship On Sunday, June 14m 2026 at 11:00AM.
Join us on July 5th for our celebration of our nation's semiquincentennial celebration all morning.
We will sing song, pray for our nation's continued focus on faith, family and fidelity as we look to another 250 years of being a "beacon upon a hill."
America at 250 Commemoration
On Rogation Sunday, we turn our prayers outward—lifting up the land, the work of our hands, and the needs of our community. Rooted in an ancient tradition of the Church, this day invites us to ask for God’s blessing on creation and all who labor within it.
At Messiah, we mark this day in tangible ways, offering prayers for our neighborhoods, local workers, and the places where daily life unfolds. We give thanks for what God has provided and ask for guidance as we care for the world around us.
All congregation members are invited to join the OWLs for Glow Wild at the Erie Zoo. The cost is $17 per person, based on a group of at least 15 participants.
Butch Karnes to Preach
Christmas in July - July 26
Mr Butch Karnes will preach and preside on Sunday, June 28 at both services. He will continue the sermon series that Rev. Glasoe is focusing on during the months of June and July.

Nature Walk at WIntergreen Gorge
Sound Bath at Shade Beach - Aug 2
Pastor Tom will lead us in a spiritual nature walk at Winter Green Gorge on Sunday, July 19 at 4pm. Anyone and everyone is welcomed on this walk. This event is intended to deepen one's spiritual connection to God and His Creation.
Pastor will have written materials to assist you on this walk.
This walk is self-paced and you can go as long as you like, alone or with someone.
During the warmest times of the year, we stop and give thanks for the gift of Christmas and the Christ-child.
In worship, we sing Christmas carols, Pastor reads the Nativity story and preach on the Christmas miracle.
Come and relive the gift of the Newborn King.
Our next Sound Bath will be August 2nd at 4pm at Shade Beach. Join us for this amazing time of renewal when we let the sounds of the sound bowls wash over us as it cleanse our souls and renew us from within. Bring a lawn chair, or a towel to sit or lie on.
It lasts about 45 minutes. Our own Dr. Flaherty leads us in this time of renewal.
Erie Conference Picnic - Aug 9
Messiah Lutheran Church will join other Lutheran congregations in a joint worship at the Peninsula at 1oam on August 9. The clergy of the congregations will lead in worship and the lay leaders will lead in different aspects of the services.
Messiah Picnic - August 16
Back to School Bash - Aug 19
Our congregation will enjoy a time of fellowship at our annual church picnic at 2pm. We have yet to determine which park will hold the picnic. Check back for updated information and we will update as soon as we know.

Taize Worship - August 30
Every year, we join Wesley Methodist Church in holding a bash before school year starts. We hand out new backpacks full of writing tools, snacks and useful things to the young students.
We also have activities and dunk tanks along with food to make the evening fun for the whole family. Join us for both fun and to volunteer.
The event starts at 6pm and ends by 8.
