Fellowship

O.W.Ls (Older, Wiser, Lutherans

At Messiah, we believe that wisdom deepens with time and that every season of life holds purpose and joy. Our O.W.L.s ministry (Older, Wiser Lutherans) is a vibrant community for our senior members to gather, grow, and stay connected.

Through regular fellowship events, outings, shared meals, and meaningful conversation, O.W.L.s provides opportunities to build friendships, encourage one another, and continue growing in faith. Whether it’s a simple time of laughter over coffee or a planned activity together, this ministry celebrates the richness of life and the gifts our seniors bring to our congregation.

All are welcome to come, connect, and be part of a community that honors both wisdom and joy.

Special Fellowship Events

Life at our congregation extends beyond Sunday mornings. Throughout the year, we gather for special fellowship events that bring joy, deepen relationships, and celebrate the goodness of community together. From meaningful experiences like our Meal in the Upper Room to festive traditions such as our Thanksgiving Celebration Dinner, these moments create space for connection, gratitude, and shared faith.

We also embrace the lighter, joyful rhythms of life with events like our Summer Church Picnic, where laughter and conversation flow freely, and our Pet Walk and Animal Blessing services, where we celebrate the gift of God’s creation in all its forms.

These gatherings are more than events—they are opportunities to belong, to build friendships, and to experience the warmth of a faith community that walks together in every season of life.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer is at the heart of our life together. It is how we listen for God’s voice, lift one another up, and remain rooted in hope—especially in life’s most difficult moments.

Our Prayer Ministry exists to ensure that no one carries their burdens alone. Through prayer requests, dedicated prayer partners, and intentional times of intercession, we hold our congregation, our community, and the world before God with care and faithfulness. Whether in times of joy, uncertainty, grief, or gratitude, prayer becomes the steady thread that connects us to God and to one another.

You are always invited to share a prayer request or join in praying for others. This ministry is not reserved for a few—it is a calling we share together, trusting that God hears, responds, and works through the prayers of His people.

Hospitality Ministry

Hospitality is one of the clearest ways we live out the love of Christ. It’s more than greeting someone at the door—it’s the intentional work of making every person feel seen, welcomed, and valued from the moment they arrive.

Our Hospitality Ministry helps create that first impression and sustains it throughout the entire experience of church life. Whether through friendly greeters, welcoming spaces, coffee and conversation, or simply noticing when someone is new or in need of connection, this ministry turns a building into a place of belonging.

At its best, hospitality says without words: there is a place for you here. It reflects the heart of the Gospel—where strangers become neighbors, and neighbors become a community. And like all meaningful ministry, it’s not just something a few people do—it’s something we grow into together.

Mediation Group

Wherever people gather, differences and tensions are part of life. Our Mediation Ministry exists to meet those moments with grace, honesty, and a commitment to healing rather than division.

Rooted in Christ’s call to reconciliation, this ministry provides a safe and respectful space for individuals to be heard, understood, and guided toward restoration. Through careful listening, prayerful discernment, and thoughtful conversation, we seek not simply to resolve conflict, but to rebuild trust and strengthen relationships.

This ministry is available to members of our congregation and, when possible, to the wider community. Whether the concern is large or small, no one needs to navigate conflict alone. We believe that even in disagreement, God is at work—inviting us into deeper understanding, humility, and peace.

Caring for our bodies is one of the ways we honor the life God has given us. Our Exercise Group offers a welcoming and supportive space to move, stretch, and build strength—no matter your age or fitness level.

This is not about competition or perfection. It’s about showing up, encouraging one another, and taking small, steady steps toward better health together. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to stay active, you’ll find a community that celebrates progress, laughter, and consistency.

More than just a workout, this group is a place of connection—where friendships grow, spirits are lifted, and we’re reminded that we don’t have to pursue wellness alone.
