8:30am Traditional Liturgical Worship

Messiah’s worship is rooted in the rich liturgical tradition of the Church, where Scripture, prayer, and music come together in a meaningful and participatory way. Each service follows a rhythm that has shaped Christian worship for centuries, guiding us through confession, proclamation, and the celebration of God’s grace. Whether you are new to liturgy or have known it your whole life, you are invited to join in a worship experience that is both reverent and accessible.

The Gathering Contemporary Worship

The Gathering is Messiah’s contemporary worship experience, centered on praise, prayer, and Holy Communion. With modern Christian music and a more free-flowing style, this service creates space for a relaxed and authentic encounter with God. While less structured than our traditional service, The Gathering remains rooted in Scripture and the sharing of Christ’s presence at the table.

Life's Events

Baptisms

In the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, water and God’s promises connect the one who is baptized with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This sacrament is an outward sign of God’s unbreakable promises of forgiveness and new life in Jesus Christ. Baptism is once and for all. It is for people of any age. Baptism is God’s gracious act and so no one is too young or old to receive God’s gift.

Prior to baptism, parents and their children are required to participate with Pastor to explore the meaning of baptism and to become familiar with the service. Baptismal sponsors are also welcome and encouraged to attend this class.

Funerals

Please know that the Messiah community mourns with you during this difficult time. We pray that you will be comforted by the memory of your loved one, and strengthened by the hope and promise of the resurrection for the days ahead.

Messiah will assist you during this time to plan a memorial service for your loved one. Pastor will work with you to develop the order of service. Our musician(s) will assist in song/hymn selection and finding special musicians if you wish. Our staff will guide you through every step both prior to and during the day of the funeral.

Honorariums do apply to the pastor, musicians (and other musicians if applicable). Please contact the church office (814-899-6386) if you have lost a loved one to being the process of celebrating your loved one's life.

In the midst of our walk with God, we experience joys and challenges. We celebrate and stand with you as you walk through your life with God.  Below are information on the three main events that we can walk with you to celebrate and grieve.  For all of these life events, please call the church office to begin our assistance.

Altar Guild

Messiah’s Altar Guild serves behind the scenes to prepare the sanctuary and the Lord’s Table for worship. With care and attention, they set up for Holy Communion, tend to the altar, and help ensure that each service is orderly and meaningful. Their work, though often unseen, plays a vital role in creating a space where the congregation can encounter God in reverence and grace.

Everyone is welcomed to join us as we seek to always elevate our worship experiences for everyone.
